Historical Background
Envisioning a dream of having a school
that is Catholic, coupled with a desire to give the people of Navotas an institution where they could entrust the total development
of their children and be equipped with the basic Christian Education needed to develop their skills to cope with the rapidly
changing environment, the late Msgr. Jose A. Mirasol confide his idea to the Maryknoll Sisters of St. JAmes who gave
their full enthusiatic support. The idea found realization: San Jose Academy named after the patron Saint of the Parish, was
born on January 23, 1970.
As the Catholic Institution, SnJA moved towards
the professionalism of its structures and services;
- Computerization of its offices to provide and coordinate technical
services for clientle and strikeholders of the school.
- Repainting of the entire school building and facilities
- Re-structuring and upgrading of facilities
- The new chapel in promoting total development of a person's sense
of communion and belongingness.
- The new Audio-Visual room to meet the needs of the school community
with regards to the present issues through tapes, VCd's and other modern equipments.
- Improvement of Manuals/Handbooks for the use of faculty, staff, administration
and students.
- Reorganization and repositioning of school administration.
- Re-defining of the curucullum to provide a better curriculum, meeting
the needs of the students to become good citizens of the society.
- Air-conditioning of the Pre-school rooms to make learning enjoyable,
fun and conducive.
- Environmental awareness to promote a zero-garbage in the entire
school community.
- Consultancy for the betterment of the school.
- The presence of MACE sister as Principal to provide effective
educational leadership to the staff, faculty and students.
- The continous program for faculty and staff for their personal growth
and improvement.
San Jose Academy continues to move forward towards
the New Millenium sending its graduates to make Christian-waves in a world, which has become to materialistic and impersonal.
At the same time, SnJA tries to cope with the rapid change in technology for the development of the students, SnJA envions
itselfs to shine through students' achievements and recognition locally and internationally. It continues to provide
a quality basic education and to become the school of the future now.
